I travelled to Cologne, Germany earlier in 2018 to present at the World Business Dialogue for the second time. Our multi-disciplinary and very international team (representing Canada, Germany, Poland, India, Sweden and USA) spent 12 weeks exploring how technological advances may improve the patient experience in a leading hospital chain in Germany.

Problem Statement
The goal of this project was to explore how technology may be used to improve patient experience in hospitals thereby ushering in a new era of hospitals in Germany.
With every conversation, it quickly became clear that to truly improve the patient experience, we must solve for three stages -
before the hospital stay
during the stay
after the stay (continuity of care)

The Experience
It was an incredible opportunity to work in such a wonderfully diverse team of talent. My favorite part being the interdisciplinary nature representing our backgrounds in entrepreneurship, health sciences, law, medicine, psychology and user experience (me!). All of us had the shared goal of improving the quality of healthcare.
We had the privilege of making our final presentation to Mr. Schneider, CEO of Asklepios.
It was a humbling experience and an inspirational one at the same time! Not only did we get some incredible feedback, but it was most encouraging to see  how engaged the team was. Mr. Schneider was very impressed with our work and wanted us to present to his Board of Directors at a later meeting to communicate the value of this direction and consequently create buy-in.

I'd love to talk more about this journey in person!
